Bike Path Improvement

Every year, the number of students who attend Aliso Niguel High School has increased contributing to an unending amount of traffic flow – The first choice is to commute by car, the second either having to bike or walk along the Bike Path. In recent months, there has been difficulty sharing the bike path when it comes to getting in and out of school. Due to the limited space and lack of safety barriers, bicyclists run into potential trouble when multiple students/pedestrians are present by obstructing the view of the pathway - forcing them to maneuver to the other side of the bike median and potentially risking of either falling into Aliso Creek or colliding with other bicyclists heading in the opposite direction. There is one solution to solving this problem.
The Bike Path (a segment from Hillview Park to the overpass of Aliso Creek Road) will be extended by adding a separate pedestrian and bikeway in each direction. Among having these pathways would include a fence barrier (parallel to the creek) that also prevents bicyclists from the danger of falling into Aliso Creek. This bike path improvement project will improve on public transportation and safety along up-to-date standards that accommodate the future flow of students who commute to Aliso Niguel High School.
To solve this problem, it is up to you to say yes and that the City of Aliso Viejo along with Mayor David C. Harrington are to act on this decision to initiate this bike path improvement project in order to improve better commuting to the school. With the help of the Student Attendees of Aliso Niguel High School (not excluding those who reside in neighboring Laguna Niguel) and residents of Aliso Viejo - Your vote counts.
