Oshawa creek clean up, new ponds, aboriginal memorials and plaques
Oshawa.. prepare to be amazed ..
I hear the story’s of what Oshawa use to be.
-A clean creek filled with fish.
-more natural dams.
-deeper water.
-more fishing spots.
-great ponds.
what I want to achieve, is the hard task of restoring Oshawa to its former glory - I feel this can be accomplished by restoring Oshawa to its aboriginal roots.
This could compose of a 7 part plan going forward.
1-Creek clean up between Adelaide and Lake Ontario.
2-digging out more creek channels in specific locations to create small ponds.
3-strategically place dams to raise water levels and fish populations in certain areas.
4-stock current ponds with native and popular fish species.
5-build new ponds in downtown and south Oshawa, stock these ponds with native and popular fish.
6-build aboriginal memorials and plaques at new ponds, in parks, along the creek in specific locations and popular fishing spots.
7-increase fish populations in specific areas like McLaughlin bay wildlife reserve, and stock these areas with native fish.
With the way Oshawa has been going down hill, I feel this could raise tourism, city morale, lower crime rate in youth and make the city a cleaner place with a better name.
