EUGENE OREGON: MOVE HOMELESS CAMP AWAY FROM CESAR CHAVEZ ELEMENTARY

There is a homeless camp less than 50 feet away from Cesar Chavez Elementary School. We’re talking hundreds of tents and RVs. The city put up a wire fence and 24 hour camera in response to the parents concerns and are not planning to do anything else about it. There’s nothing in place to protect our children from the debris and possible needles that will be left around the school grounds while school is not in session. There was a bag of meth found not fair from this camp. We do not want police to patrol, that is not enough. If the city saw a greater urge to move the camps from under Ferry St bridge, but are allowing this, there is a BIG problem. I drove away from my kids today feeling panicked. This is wrong and our kids deserve better, they are our future. Please join me in signing this petition. It’s not against anyone who’s homeless, just asking for this not to be part of our children’s every day life.
