Urge Blue Springs City Council to reject re-plat of Chapman Farms subdivision
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
Hello Chapman Farms residents,
Summit Custom Homes, LTD is adding a new subdivision to your neighborhood. This new subdivision is named Ridgewood Park at Chapman Farms, and it will participate in your HOA and share your neighborhood amenities.
Originally, this subdivision was to be made up of 83 homes with similar yard size, square footage and materials as your home. Summit Custom Homes is seeking to modify these plans to allow for their Heritage class of homes to be built. These are smaller homes on reduced lots, some with lesser quality materials. These smaller, crowded homes may affect your home’s value.
Members of your community are urging Blue Springs City Council to reject this redesign for the following reasons:
1. All current houses in our HOA meet the SF-7 setback specifications. This controls the spacing between houses and the distance the house is from the street. These rules protect the moderate density status of our neighborhood. Summit Custom Homes is seeking to reduce these setbacks, which will result in a more crowded neighborhood (105 houses in the space designed for 83).
2. When you bought your house and signed your Covenant with the HOA, you were promised that no house in the HOA’s neighborhood would be less than 1600 square feet. The Heritage class of house being planned by Summit Custom Homes includes floor plans for a ranch as small as 1400 square foot.
This is not what you were sold!
Please help us oppose Summit Custom Home’s Amended Planned Unit Development Concept Plan / PUDC-02-17-5680. By signing this petition, you are asking your City Council members to reject the proposed modification to the plan.
