Help Living Waters Park Help District 5

This petition had 48 supporters

Planned as a future sustainable development located at 6000 Wilbarger St. on the western shores of Lake Arlington, Living Waters Park ( is envisioned to be an area wide event attraction and destination for the entire Dallas/Fort Worth area.  The mission of Living Water Park is to be a catalyst for economic stimulus to the East Fort Worth community by seeking positive economic, educational, social and environmental outcomes that create jobs and improve the quality of life by bringing to life the hidden beauty of the natural resources Lake Arlington holds.

But as anyone who lives within the boundaries of Fort Worth's District 5 knows, the deterioration of the streets and roads has been a long-time problem. To help address this issue, the City of Fort Worth has proposed a $65.5 million bond that will go toward the rehabilitation and repair of failed and poor condition arterial roads, park roads and neighborhood streets within the city.

To help assist in the success of Living Waters Park, we ask for your support in petitioning the city to include the improvement of Wilbarger St. (East of S. Cravens Road) in the bond. But in order to make sure Wilbarger St. and other roads in District 5 get the necessary funds needed, the residents, business owners and concerned citizens of District 5 must let the city council know our streets are in need of repair.

You can let District 5 Councilwoman Gyna Bivens, the Mayor, City Council and the City Planning Department know that you support the improvement of Wilbarger St. and other roads in District 5 by signing this petition and attending the public meeting scheduled for Oct. 9 @ 6:30pm at Handley Meadowbrook Community Center, 6201 Beaty St, Fort Worth, TX 76112.

FYI, The total proposed budget also includes over $399 million for repair of street lights, bridges, parks, fire stations, etc. so these concerns can also be addressed at the meeting.

Below are the streets that have already been targeted for repair.  If your street is need of repair, you must let it be known by declaring it at the public meeting and signing this petition! If we don't get involved, these funds to improve our neighborhoods will be redirected to other communities!
