We Need a Barrier on North Washington

My husband and I are writing to you to alert you of a major safety concern. We live on 1421 N. Washington Street which is adjacent to a sharp southbound curve in the road.
There have been two major accidents within the past two years where drivers took the curve erratically, careened off the road, and into our property- one accident resulted in the driver's death and the other with extensive property damage to our house. This curve is a threat to our entire neighborhood as the Naperville Chicago Onnuri Church uses the area as well as students walking to Jefferson Junior High (kitty corner), train commuters, and numerous pedestrians.
Up until Saturday, August 19 of this year the only barrier between the curve and our house was an old tree that the village removed without advance notice to us or our neighbors. There is now no barrier stopping wayward cars from crashing into pedestrians, students walking to school, church goers, and my family where we are raising two boys and our neighbors. We are asking the village to create a barrier to prevent cars from going off the road. This would not only provide safety for our home and our loved ones, but would serve as a safety to help all pedestrians.
Please take a moment of your time to sign our petition. We plan to reveal this petition to a Naperville City Council Meeting on September 5th.
