Signatures needed to stop the opening of a marijuana dispensary next to JDI Dance Company

Proposition 64 has passed in California which is the legalization of Cannabis. Cities in California have to decide by the end of the year if they will allow dispensaries to open in their cities and if so what regulations they will place on them i.e.(distance from schools, churches, parks etc.). The building that sits at the front of the Canyon Fitness Center parking lot is being leased with option to purchase and preparing to open at the first of the year as a marijuana dispensary if the City passes Ordinance 176 and lifts the ban. The building sits 100 feet from the entrance to JDI and 50 feet from the drop off and pick up where over 750 children are enrolled ages 1 1/2 to 18 years old and attend weekly from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm. JDI also has home schooled children that spend their weekdays at JDI and work on their studies between dance classes in our homework room. Whether it be a Cannabis dispensary or liquor store in this building neither would be conducive to the environment that JDI has created which is a positive role model and learning center for children.
