The People want to vote. City council has decided they want to appoint a Mayor instead of letting the citizens voices be heard. The decision was made 4 to 1 against city councilwoman Brandi Matthews, who in her greatest efforts fought for the city to let the people vote. Following the late Chuck Allen stepping down  from office, an election is needed to decide who will be Mayor of Goldsboro NC. However, that is not apart of member of the city council's agenda .

It has been recently brought to my attention, that it's not standard to appoint one after a Mayor steps down mid term. It is key that the people choose who is Mayor and ultimately any position where the city official is to be elected.  Research conducted in Wayne County shows the people would like to VOTE. 

The public interview of 10 Candidates start Monday August 2 at 4pm downtown at City Hall. out of those ten they will choose who they want be after the interview. Reasons being because they say an election would cost too much. 

There is a video attached of the meeting where Councilwomen Matthews fought tirelessly by her lonesome for the city to be able to vote. Disrespect by councilman Ham as he calls her "lady" "don't put words in my mouth LADY"... The disregard for her concerns are disheartening and very troubling. Reasons why we nee to be able to ELECT a Mayor. Complete took the voices of district one away from being apart of this decision.
