Boris Johnson and his government yet again have shown a blatant disregard for following lockdown rules, which they themselves set and voted for and passed as law throughout this pandemic. We, the citizens of the UK were not allowed to see our loved ones, hold theirs hands as they passed, celebrate or mourn together their deaths. We had very limited numbers at funerals. Our population of elderly couldn’t see their families. Babies were born and for months couldn’t meet their grandparents. Pubs were closed to us. People were criminalised for traveling to beauty spots for exercise. Yet OUR LEADER AND HIS GOVERNMENT continually met socially in large numbers to drink wine and eat cheese. Whilst you or I sat in our homes, educating our children, holding down our jobs, keeping the economy moving and the infrastructure going as much as was humanly possible, this government couldn’t get a fit for purpose Track and Trace app working, spent millions of our money on PPE that failed the standards required and couldn’t even get it to the frontline NHS that were trying to save our lives. This Government has failed YOU every step of the way whilst enjoying a glass of Chardonnay whilst we abided by the law. We need to now force this Government to take responsibility for their lack of respect for the vote that put them in power. For every family that has been touched by Covid and lost loved ones, for individual that lived on their own and battled their mental health, for every man, woman and child that suffered from domestic abuse and cruelty, for every mis diagnosed cancer patient, for all those people needing medical intervention to have any quality of life, we need to remove all those from power that have flouted the law and think themselves above it. Join me in showing your anger, frustration and lack of respect for this cabinet. Please please please share. Make them listen to us. We do matter. We do count. We will not be treated with disregard. We owe this to everyone who has Covid stated on their death certificates.
