John Barrett's actions have shown that he does not support the fundamental part of 3CDC's mission to create diverse, mixed-income neighborhoods supported by local business."

I'm signing because the poor can't. We can't build a better city while drugs pour in and communities of diverse people suffer. Build into the community and wage war on drugs instead gaining personal advantage.

He serves no cooperative, productive purpose and was a mistake to be put on in the first place.

I'm signing because when I moved downtown, and later bought a place in OTR, I believed the 3CDC mission -- that they would develop downtown and OTR so it would be a diverse neighborhood in all senses. Barrett's actions suggest that he neither understands nor supports this objective. Only those who can support the declared mission of 3CDC should serve on its board.

Because the heavy handed tactics Mr Barrett used to force the women's refuge at Anna Louise Inn to sell their property to him for monetary gain is not an acceptable act in a democratic country.

It is more reminiscent of the acts of property developers in China who, when faced with one person who won't sell their property, build and even excavate huge holes around the unsold property to make the life of the one person who won't sell a misery.

Mr Barratt is acting as though money has more rights than people, which is an evil and callous position to take. He does not deserve to hold any position where he can exercise any power ever again.

He forced out struggling women from a women's home. He is morally corrupt.

This is a depressing story. This local church group has been running this house of charity since the 1800's, but the insurance company saw nothing but a smaller organization they could bully into selling. They already had so much, but they just had to have this too, and when they couldn't get their way, they turned to underhanded tactics. They should be ashamed of themselves, but they won't be.
