It is important that we, the citizens, recognize the attack on education within Sumter, SC. To secretly disrupt our children's educational experience, within the Sumter School District, by forcing a dedicated superintendent away from the work that involves helping children is simply wrong and, might I add, dishonorable.

Your voice is desperately needed now more than ever! We need to seriously look at the work and the progress our school district has made within the past three years; while experiencing a pandemic. We can first start by acknowledging the increase in the district's operating fund balance after having to recover from a 6.2 million dollar deficit.

This community deserves the best. For the past three years, Dr. Martin-Knox has been doing the work for all children. It will be your voice that will keep her leadership in Sumter School District. Your voice is more vital than personal vendettas and agendas.

Take part and make the change occur by signing this petition. Let us speak volumes to ensure Dr. Penelope Martin-Knox’s contract is extended to continue the work within the SUMTER SCHOOL DISTRICT.
