As a Hempstead high school alumnus, with ties to the Hempstead community, it's time for the children of Hempstead to be able to get a chance to succeed in life that's been held out of reach for far too long. I've worked with other residents of Hempstead to "clean house" within the school board, and to make Hempstead a better place, but we can still do more. Governor Cuomo, your constituents need you to sign the bill and intervene immediately. Tomorrow is to late.

As a Hempstead High School alumni, I know first hand the issues, the lack of support, guidance and the poor quality of education all Hempstead children experience. The students deserve better.

We need our schools to operate fairly and ensure money is accurately spent to ensure our children get the best education.
