We request you, to help clean the musi river in order to restore it and decrease the health and economic problems caused by the rivers current situation. The Musi river has been contaminated and severely polluted, so I ask the government on behalf of the citizens of India to put a step forward and clean the musi river to decrease its affects on health and the economy, we can restore and bring back the historical glory of the Musi river that wove its way into the Deccan city of pearls.

The Musi river is one of the major tributaries of Krishna river, the river originates in Ananthagiri hillsis one of the most contaminated and polluted rivers flowing through the heart of Hyderabad. The musi river is polluted with untreated industrial waste and emits a foul ammonia smell, The banks of the musi river is home many slums of the city. According to a research article by Osmania university, “The elevated concentrations of COD and BOD have shown organic matter presence in Musi river, and can have disastrous effects on aquatic life and human health”. Some of the most notable negative affects of the musi river are - “2) Availability and impact of water cost of the selected sample villages. 3) Health problems caused by pollution and medical expenses incurred by sample households. 4) Water pollution affect on the cattle and fish population. 5)Water pollution effects on the traditional occupations.”- according to researchgate.com

How can we solve this issue and help? 1) we can make a conscious effort to be aware and educate others on not polluting the musi river. For example - avoid throwing anything in the musi river. 2) educate people on the importance or rivers and the heritage of the musi river. Knowing why we are in the wrong often helps us to correct our mistakes and make a right informed decision. 3) starting donation and volunteer drives. Donating money to the government can help the government buy and use more tools to clean up the musi river and volunteering? Having an extra set of hands and a driven mind can always help increase the rate at which we are cleaning up the musi river.

Even though, according to law it is the government’s job to look after and take care of our river, it is also us that are degrading the musi rivers conditions, one prime example could be polluting the river, dont you think that it is time to help the musi river front development cooperation, restore our river to its former glory?
