On 5th January 2020 masked goons numbering around 40 entered the JNU campus with lathis and attacked students and teachers by smashing the gates, entering the students rooms and attacking with their lathis and rods .These goons including men and women were allowed to roam around the campus for two hours and inflict violence on campus leaving 20 students and teachers  seriously injured and property ransacked and damaged. Not just that they even attacked the ambulance and medical staff that came in to attend to the injured. All this while the police who were outside the campus did not respond to the appeal of the students.

The goons exited two hours later some on foot and some in SUV's. The police despite being entreated again did not stop or arrest them.

It is being made out that there was a fight between two rival groups. Nothing can be further from the truth.

Sir , we request you to take suo moto notice of these attacks , summon the Commissioner of police and direct the police to protect the life and liberty of the students. We also request you to investigate the role of the police and why they stood by tacitly supporting the attack by the goons.
