I’m making this petition not so much to change but too keep current dog hunter rights and laws in Granville County. Year after year pressure is applied to eliminate dog hunters as a whole throughout Granville county. This pressure is stemmed from encounters with hunters and landowners or citizens that usually are misunderstandings or provoked altercations from either side. Ultimately they’re a lot of dog hunters that go out their way to be respectful to home owners and land owners. There is no reason to punish a group of individuals that run dogs respectfully; for a few of individuals that don’t do what they’re supposed to. Enforce rules to eliminate bad dog hunters, but save the rights of the hunters that do their best to respect landowners rights, their rights as hunters and protect their dogs.
