Cadence Grace started this petition to Citizens of Georgia and

Pets are always a fun addition to anyone's life, and sometimes people like to get creative with their pet choices. From snakes to horses, the limits are- almost - endless. However when it comes to a more exotic flavor of pets, Georgia has it's limitations. One of these limitations is hedgehogs. Hedgehogs are wonderful pets with great personality, which can be perfect add-ons to any family or person.

The reason for a ban on these cute creatures is due to concern about the pets getting loose and breeding in the wild, creating an imbalance in the ecosystem, as hedgehogs are not naturally found in Georgia. However, this concern is not shared when it comes to ferrets, who are also not natural to the environment. As long as the ferrets are spayed/neutered, they are allowed as pets. Hedgehogs can also be spayed or neutered, and it even can be beneficial to the little guys!

Overall, in this petition we hope to raise awareness of this imbalance, and make a way to get to the state senate with a bill to change this unfair law. We need support from all types of folks, including regular citizens, veterinarians, exotic pet specialists and experts, politicians (local or statewide), or any one out of state who is willing to contribute to the cause! You are much appreciated, and thank you for considering!
