Citizens, youth and families of Deltona need full access to city run fields.  This has been a long standing problem in Deltona.  However, in light of the fact that the City of Deltona will now make it mandatory for Deltona citizens to fund the new sports complex and gymnasium that is scheduled to be built behind City Hall and to be used by Daytona State College this should be questioned.  Citizens are not able to rent some of the city run fields within Deltona as it stands now.  The ones that are allowable for rent are unaffordable.  Our local business has been forced to rent fields outside of Deltona and sometimes outside of the County in order to run youth leagues for flag football and kickball.  Why are these city assets not available for rent and why should we build more only to make them inaccessible?
