Recently, the Brownsville City Commission engineered the name change of historic Fronton St. to McNair Family St., with little actual engagement or approval from the public. Despite the reversion effort of two commissioners, the name change is sticking. In the immortal words of our city’s founder, Charles Stillman ... “Seriously, you slugabed baboons?” 

As a remedy, we are starting a grassroots effort to rename McNair Family St. to something more suitable, honoring a true native son of Brownsville, a leisure-suit clad reminder of simpler, better times ...
