Covered Trash & Recycling Receptacles for All of Barbados

Barbados has only 7 garbage trucks on the entire island and there is a long span of time between trash collections. Illegal trash dumping is rampant, which is creating a serious health concern The uncollected trash and untimely garbage trash collections schedules are causing huge land pollution due to the foul smells of the garbage which is seeping through and there is potentially a serious health concern if this matter is not addressed immediately. The trash cans currently being used by residence have no lids, which causes rodents, dogs, cats and wild fowls to tear the trash apart leaving trash debris all over. In addition, whenever it rains, water collects in the trash cans causing contaminated water to accumulated and develops into breeding ground for mosquitoes. If this issue is not immediately addressed it will probably cause an outbreak of Chikungunya and the Zika Virus as it did years ago or yet another menace in the form of malaria. Every home will be provided with covered receptacles at no charge to residence. Community effort and support will benefit the overall appearance of the island including beaches and bus stops.
