Emani Evans started this petition to Citizens and

We want the students of PLSD to educate their peers who do not know about the injustices in America because it can showcase the struggles and triumphs of minorities from the past and in the present. Showing the wrong doing of people in the past and even now, will help the students in our community of all cultures, so that they can respect and treat those who are different with dignity. Stopping shows like the Black History Month Program, will only further allow a divide between faculty, students, and the community, leaving them to be blind to the mistreatment of minorities now and back then. Just because it is hard to tell, history should never be forgotten because of how uncomfortable it may seem. Help us education the public and share what history means to us. If the truth is brought to light with history and honesty, the youth will grow into a bigger and better future.
