*Haryana – Make Haryana safer for women by building toilets!*

Haryana recorded around 1 crore women living in the state with only 80 public toilets for women in 2011. On an average, this meant 1.4 lakh women per toilet. In locations like Rohtak, Sonepat, Jhajjar, Jind and Mahendergarh there are no records about public toilets for women.
Haryana is known to be particularly unsafe for women, and the lack of toilets just adds to this issue. Only last year, a woman left her husband’s home because there was no toilet.
According to Swachhta Status Report, 49.49 lakh household latrines were constructed after the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission, indicating substantial acceleration in the pace of construction of toilets. However, the number dropped to 0 last year.
This implies that development is required for the state to progress. Sign this petition and make sure that everyone gets access to clean toilets and a healthier life!
