After years of making progress to reduce tobacco use by teens, we are seeing an alarming increase in the number of youth who vape. The culprit? Flavored vaping products like mango and bubblegum, which have been designed by Big Tobacco to hook kids on nicotine. Nearly 7 of 10 kids who vape are using a flavored product, and we know that kids would not vape if they did not have access to flavored products. Over 5 million children and youth who are not old enough to vote are currently vaping. We must take on Big Tobacco in this fight.

Locally, San Diego County and the City of Imperial Beach recently adopted a ban on flavored vaping products. Many cities are considering similar steps to protect our kids – because flavors hook kids.
