ISC Student started this petition to CISCE

For many years now, the CISCE has been giving texts mostly written by foreign authors as a part of the ICSE/ISC Short Stories/Poems. To put things in perspective, in the new syllabus we have only ONE Indian author as a part of the ISC Poems Curriculum.

We should make our curriculum more even with 5 poems/short stories by Indian authors and 5 by foreign authors. The current generation, in this age of technology where they avoid vernacular texts, should at least get a taste of the literature of our country.

We have famous Indian authors like Vikram Seth, Khushwant Singh, Salman Rushdie to name a few. Even the translated works of famous authors like Rabindranath Tagore or Satyajit Ray are on par and can be prescribed as a part of our syllabus.

Please help the voices of students reach out to the Council by signing the petition. It will help in the betterment of Indian Literature and Culture in the long run.

Thanks a lot for giving your time!
