Sachiko Fukushige is one and the only Japanese teacher at Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, Texas. Her teaching practices and bonds with students formed even through a pandemic across the world. She has brought great joy to all the classes that meet her and (take it from me) her class was the one I looked the most towards after a school day on Zoom. It is astonishing how connected the students and the teacher at Cinco Ranch High were during a global pandemic on a digital platform. Students chose to partake in this class to not only learn a language, but build a bond with it. When this beloved teacher leaves, the whole Japanese course leaves.

Hopefully, our Sensei gets permission to teach in the way she feels most comfortable and safely to. Help her teach online, my fellow peers.
