I have always found myself struggling to pay attention to school through zooms. Some people would think that the solution would be going to school but I do not want to risk my health and my families health. Virtual kids have to be on zoom all day and it's no healthy, nor helpful. Some of the problems for virtual kids are: teacher's don't call on you on zoom as much, its hard to interact with the rest of the class, and tech problems. For example teachers call on kids in class more often that kids on zoom. They don't always see you raising your hand and you feel like you are not heard. Kids in school don't have microphones so when they answer you can't hear them very well. Zoom issues can make the class a waste of time just because zoom isn't working. Also kids in school are not on zoom so you feel very disconnected. Some teachers don't realize how hard it is to be a remote leaner in times like this. I know that other people think that kids need to interact that's why its important for kids to go to school. But the truth is this is how cases spread. Its better for a year off of socializing than 5 more years because we sprang so fast to going back to school. In my school the last year was fully virtual where everyone was home and it was no zooms. I think that this was a lot more safe and healthier because you could plan your schedule the way you wanted and it was less on computers. Virtual kids have it way harder than kids in school. Even when school was fully virtual and there was zooms and everyone was at home it was easier to learn. Remote learners should be able to attend school with no zooms. Please support this because I find it can help students like me immensely.
