Peninsula Estate Housing Society (PEHS) is a South Surrey non-profit society with a long history of developing and managing affordable housing. Their most recent development of PEHS was in 2016 when the Chorus Inclusive and Affordable Apartment opened. The building was rented up immediately and vacancies are still snapped up.

The current proposed development is called Harmony Apartment Project. The Harmony Apartment Project features 91 rental homes at affordable rates for the citizens of Surrey and will be built on the south east corner of Peninsula Estates, at 151A St. and 20 Ave in South Surrey.

We know there is huge demand for quality affordable rental apartments in our area—retirees, young families, children moving out of their homes can no longer afford to live in the areas where they grew up. We know of seniors who are living in basement suites who are fearful that they will not be able to find somewhere to live if the house they are living in is sold. The inclusive nature of the project also ensures that people with disabilities will have an opportunity to live independently, with some support, in their own homes.

It is difficult to develop affordable housing projects, but because PEHS owns the land, this is a unique opportunity. Don’t let this opportunity slip by – please sign our petition in support of affordable housing.
