As per the leading news channels in the country, India has started reporting a lot of confirmed cases of the Omicron variant of covid-19 out of which one has been reported in Delhi and nine in Jaipur which is quite close to Delhi. Also, many passengers are untraceable which makes it likely for the count to be more than in records. As per the scientific research done, this variant of the virus spreads significantly faster than the others.

The CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR is conducting its first set of offline end semester exams this month (December 2021). As is obvious, due to these exams a huge crowd of students will come to campus which exposes them and everybody around them to contract the virus. Moreover, there is no option for a fresh attempt of these exams at a later date and there is only an option to appear for supplementary exams, because of which an absent mark will be reflected in our marks card. So, this is basically like compelling students to risk their healths and come write the exams. Also, the airports across India have started imposing fresh restrictions with regards to covid-19 and thus, a lot of parents are extremely worried as to how their children are going to get back home safely and in time.

Thus, we humbly request the university to consider the option of conducting the end semester exams in a hybrid mode and to start afresh with the offline mode in the next semester subject to the pandemic conditions.
