The most important thing in a democracy is an informed electorate. With the current state of politics, we the people cannot be informed properly with the continued misinformation. Live fact checking is of vital importance in order to ensure that we the people can cast our votes based on truth. Both parties should be held accountable to their words and the only way to ensure this is for them to be called out live in front of the entire country.

This nation was built for the people to have a say in the direction that this country has taken. Without the truth, the people of this great nation cannot form educated opinions and our great democracy fails. 

We need to restore faith in the broken system by holding our elected officials and those who hope to be elected by our votes to the truth. They cannot be allowed to lie to the people continually without consequence and in blatant disrespect for the sanctity of office to which they hope to hold. 

We as a nation should be able to trust the word of the people that we elect to be in charge. As of late that is almost impossible. The biggest thing dividing us as a nation is that we can’t trust the accuracy of the information that we are being given. Until that is remedied we need to tell those in power that we demand the truth or we will find someone else.
