Too often domestic violence laws are abused in order to gain rights over children, kick a spouse out, or get a step ahead in a divorce.

Reform the domeatic violence laws to ensure the person who filed for it gets in the same amount of legal trouble if they contact the person they filed against. In order to prevent it being used as a tool for abuse, and power and control.

I started this petition because...
6 year New hampshire National Guard soldier, and dedicated father who spent the christmas holidays homeless, cold and without his children after enduring a year of threats that the laws would be abused to take my children away if I didnt do exactly as my spouse said. I had evidence supporting my evidence and was denied the ability to present it in court and when I filed for an appeal I was denied outright. I am a loving father who watched his children daily to save on child care and now only sees the 4 days a month while an unfamiliar man is raising my children daily. I was kicked out unjustly when there was no more use for me. The manchester family courts failed to serve justice and provide due process, the manchester police failed to help me when I begged for help and confided in them about the years of physical and emotional abuse I endured. There is no reason why a person who once said "I wish you had just killed yourself." In front of young children, and has used the domestic violence laws for personal gain and constant threats should have been awarded custody, and belongings that weren't earned.
