On June 1st officials in Rochester NH cracked down on the sales of edible cannabidiol products, meaning several Rochester businesses were forced to cease selling products such as coffee, gummies, and other food items infused CBD.

Although the product can be used medically in the State of NH, it is not considered food, making it an issue with the state's food code. The state code follows federal FDA regulations which doesn't list CBD among its approved food additives.

The FDA met last week to discuss further regulation on CBD in food and drink and it's clear there is confusion in all part of the county about the legality of it. Although they had their first hearing, no decisions are expected to be made soon.

Recently Maine regulators did the same by ordering businesses to stop selling CBD food products, however, shortly after the Governor of Maine signed emergency legislation to allow the production and sale of these products in her state.

This petition is to our state legislators and Governor Sununu to take the same action as our neighbors and Maine and allow businesses to continue to sell CBD products once again.
