Planning Situation Update & Pictures

Ashley Tanton

Jan 6, 2015 — After a damp protest in the rain on Saturday - attended by 70 of our supporters - we needed something to lift our spirits, and today some good news came our way.

The advice from the Arboricultural Manager at Shepway District Council, who was consulted by his colleagues in the planning department, was made public today. I quote the opening paragraph of his report:

"I would like to recommend the refusal of this application on the basis that the removal of the remaining trees and vegetation and erection of the proposed dwellings would spoil the landscape character of the
location"

At last someone in a position of authority is able to see the benefit that the trees on this site offer us in terms of residential amenity.
