We support the new Climate Change Learning Programme resource.

Learning about climate change in Aotearoa is very important and it is equally important that we learn about the contributions of major New Zealand industries to climate change.

The resource is great. However we do want to see the following recommendations added to the "things we can do" section.

- Acknowledge that the most important action we can take is to push for social, economic and political change.

- Acknowledge that supporting the School Strike 4 Climate movement is a great way of pushing for further meaningful action on climate change.

- Acknowledge that resisting fossil fuel mining projects is a great way to stop more carbon being burnt.

All of these can be done by writing or contacting local politicians and businesses, being part of community groups and creating your own groups to push for the changes you want to see.

The resource can be found at https://nzcurriculum.tki.org.nz/Curriculum-resources/Education-for-sustainability/Tools-and-resources
