Help us save our green space! 

Residents of Heywood, living on and around Wilton Grove, Cobden Street, Nelson Street and King Street have informally received information from a local councillor, that our recreational & community space (which has been in use since 1932) is to be built on. Although a small piece of land, the loss of this green space will not only have a detrimental effect on the local community's quality of life, it will also have a significant impact on congestion in the area due to already being x2 schools at either sides of the field. Problems parking and individuals properties which will inevitably be exposed to an increased risk of flooding. Higher emissions, the land quality, decrease in house prices.  

As residents of Heywood, we understand the need for affordable housing, but there is plenty of land around the town that could accommodate new builds instead and is much more more suitable, but instead it is being left and precious land where our children play is being sold off to developers for financial gain.
