Tell Governor Christie to make New Jersey a member of the US Climate Alliance

On June 1st, 2017 President Donald Trump formally withdrew the United States of America from the Paris Climate Agreement. This decision has worried millions of Americans across the country who fear the detrimental effects that climate change will have on our planet.
In response to Trump's withdrawal, the United States Climate Alliance was formed - a coalition of states (including California, New York, Massachusetts, and others) who have pledged to adhere to the Paris Agreement even if the federal government will not. As of June 2nd, seven states have formally joined.
Today, the people of New Jersey are calling upon Governor Chris Christie to formally make our state a member of the US Climate Alliance.
Although NJ only makes up around 2% of the USA's total annual emissions, participation from as many states as possible is required to make the US Climate Alliance an effective vehicle for change. By joining the Alliance, New Jersey can show the country and the rest of the world that it is committed to protecting the environment and halting climate change, even if Donald Trump is not.
In less than six months, Governor Christie will no longer be in office, but climate change is an issue that demands action right now. New Jersey must become a member of the US Climate Alliance.
If you agree, sign this petition and tell the governor to protect the planet!
