Stop Governor Chris Christie's Proposed $3.6 Million Budget Cuts to the EOF Program

There is a proposed $3.565 million budget cut in the NJ Fiscal Year 2018 state budget for the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) programs that we must restore.
The Educational Opportunity Fund Programs target first-generation, economically disadvantaged students, and guides them through college, providing them with both academic advising, as well as financial support. EOF consists of about 13,000 students across 60 campuses throughout NJ. EOF's Summer Institute provides students with early college exposure, building on their GPA's and College Transcripts, and helping them to graduate on time, or even earlier! Throughout the rest of their college careers, EOF assigns the students a counselor who guides them through their academic needs in order to insure their fullest success. This saves the state of NJ millions in Tag Grants, as EOF students graduate quicker than their non-EOF counterparts, keeping the state of NJ from granting them further Tag Grants.
The proposed cuts will no longer allow the program to guide 13,000 students through college, and will therefore make it harder for thousands of economically disadvantaged students to both attend college and successfully earn their degree.
We must invest in the education of our citizens if we truly want to make America (and NJ) Great Again!
