Governor Christie please pardon Hisashi Pompey

Pardon decorated Marine Hisashi Pompey who is fighting for his freedom after a mandatory gun sentence in 2011. Eventhough, Hisashi Pompey was a Military Police in the Marines at the time and the firearm was legal, it was registered in Virginia but not in New Jersey. Hisashi Pompey has no prior criminal record and was not involved in any criminal activity at the time of his arrest. A friend of his took his gun from his holster and was in possession of it when the police arrived. When asked by the police, Hisashi admitted that the firearm belonged to him. He served our country doing 3 tours over in Afghanistan and Iraq and was decorated with medals of honor. He is a family man with a wife and 3 young children. And this particular law has since changed. Now 6 years later, it doesn't make sense and it is a waste of taxpayers money to incarcerate this veteran for a mandatory 3 year sentence and separate him from his family
