At a council meeting in May 2015 it was noted that the majority of rate payers and councillors did not want the NBN tower placed on Bell Hill Reserve. Unfortunately the Chittering Shire have recently received another application for approval to erect the tower. The clearing required is 488sqm. Bell Hill Reserve is not a large area and this foot print will have a huge impact. In this location members of the community who live close by claim the endangered Carnaby's Black-Cockatoo's roost there and also a colony of the endangered chudditch (western quoll). A baby Chudditch even rescued by a long standing resident of Bindoon and well known wildlife carer, before being returned to its mum not long after. With all the fires and land clearing that continue to ravage our state we need to conserve what ever we can for the future of our wildlife. We ask that another site be found away from 'at risk' wildlife. Extinction is the end of a species, never to return.
