Strongly require the apologies from Mirror Irish Sunday

We, the Chinese Community of Ireland, hereby demand a sincere written apology from the Irish Sunday Mirror.

The headline in the February 2nd edition, “China Virus at Dublin Airport”, inappropriately labelled the Corona virus, in a racist manner. This headline is misleading to the public, and has the potential to cause discrimination among Chinese citizens, students and children living in Ireland.

This label is highly offensive and unacceptably discriminatory from a racist point of view. The negative impact on the Chinese Community is inestimable.

The Irish Sunday Mirror should take their responsibility for ethical media seriously, and report in an unbiased and objective fashion.
