Children’s mental health crisis, pushing forward the need for education review and reform
Why this petition matters

There is currently a huge wave of children in mental health crisis sweeping across our country. This began long before the pandemic, however, the pandemic has pushed this forward further.
Children are being pushed from one service to another. Families looking for help and support are lost on a never ending waiting list, and all the while children are left, often for months and years, with no support.
children are struggling to attend school due to anxiety, stress and worry.
School environments are over crowded and outdated, and discriminate against children who struggle in these areas, as they cannot provide the environment that these children need in order to grow, learn and thrive. School budgets have been cut so much that there just isn’t the funding to properly support students who need it.
schools need an individual, pupil centred approach to learning. Learning Environments need to change and adapt with the ever growing needs of these children. Alternative education provision is at risk of becoming mainstream due to the sheer volume of children needing it.
I am asking for a complete review of the education system, it’s funding and it’s provision for all children who attend.
I am also asking for an urgent review of children’s mental health services across the country. Families are fed up of being passed from pillar to post with no clear plan of support, and children are being failed.
