Child safety should always be a top priority. Most of Tracy’s city council members, including Mayor Nancy Young,Tracy’s city Manager and Police chief seem to think otherwise. Tracy’s residence  are devasted at the fact that the city is allowing the homeless to camp out at a once productive park for over two years now. Nowhere in the Boise Vs. Martin law does it state that the homeless can camp out at the parks after 10 PM at night they can set up a tent but by 6 AM they need to have all of their items out of the park including themselves. Ordinances have been created but not one person seems to be able to carry it all the way out for a final approval for the city council and mayor. Not only that but this park which is now considered a homeless encampment is connected to a preschool, K-8 school, all day daycare, a senior living residency, a residential apartment building and not to mention the tax paying, home owning Tracy residence surrounding the park. We are not just talking about homeless people we are talking about people with unstable mental disabilities drug/ alcohol addiction which leads to criminal activity like murder and rape which we have experienced already at this park since the encampment took place we don’t care that a shelter is not ready for homeless. Our concern is for these innocent children having to deal with such a life changing, negative impact.  As a concerned resident of Tracy for over 30 years, and a stressed worried-some parent of North School, as a child safety advocate, and as the people of Tracy CA, we want to evacuate the homeless away from schools and our Park at El Pescadero to ensure the safety of our children.
