No Parking signs needed for Parliament Drive

Okay, so the picture above isn't quite our current problem, but it certainly feels this way!  Other area neighborhoods have recieved no parking signs from 8-3 on the weekdays and it's made our current parking situation on our street worse.  Guests or service vehicles don't have a place to park as there is already no-parking signs on one side of the street.  Residents are having a tough time navigating oncoming cars.  And folks from Parliament way have to pull out into the oncoming lane because cars are parked so close to the intersection.   We have developed a real trash problem as well, and some students have been parking on neighbors lawns.   Parliament Drive is already a cut through because of the four way intersection, and commuters speed down our street, which further aggravates the narrowing of our street.   The school needs to solve the situation for the students, whether that be by carpool, bus, etc.  We pay a lot of taxes for empty school buses that are underutilized and part of the solution.  There are 5 houses on the street - and some days there are over 15 cars.  If the school and the students aren't forced to come up with a plan, they will just continue to park here.   St. Lukes Church has already created spaces that are not being used.   We would like to show Chief Grogan that there is community support and that it impacts more than just the 5 homes on this street.  And with the growing school size, it will probably bleed over into the neighboring streets if we don't solve the problem.   Dekalb County allows for residence to petition for resident parking in cases like these, but Duwoody won't allow this without legislating it.  A simple call by Chief Grogan can remedy the situation, but he needs to see there is a level of support from the community.   Please consider signing this petition if you support having the signs.  Thank you!!
