Start registrations of Non-Agricultural properties in Telangana immediately
It’s been 3 months since the Telangana Government has stopped the Registrations of Non-Agricultural properties like plots, flats, and houses abruptly in the state. This sudden action of the government without any sense or purpose has left the citizens of the state in a lurch.
Sale and purchase of properties in our country is a constitutional right and the state government has overstepped it’s mandate by stopping the registrations of the same in the guise of reforms and introduction of a new portal - Dharani. The government has the power to make changes in rules or initiate reforms in the process but this should be ready before stopping the registrations and not by starting the process after stopping the registrations and taking it’s own time in notifying them.
The Corona Pandemic has already delayed the plans of citizens to buy properties and once the things are becoming normal this unwarranted action of the government has not only left the citizens stranded but it is causing a huge financial loss to the government, which to some estimates has reached Rs.1800 crores at a time when the government is searching for money to fund it’s welfare schemes. I immediately urge the Chief Minister of Telangana to consider the woes of lakhs of property buyers who are in fact drivers of state’s economy, and start the registrations of non-agricultural properties immediately in the old CARD system, till the cases on Dharani portal going on in the High Court of Telangana are settled.
