This petition is being circulated to gather your support to prevent the reopening of colleges on the 7th of December 2020. Tamil Nadu government has issued a circular on 30/11/2020, circular no: 260 authorizing the permission to reopen the college for the final years of Arts, Science and Engineering students. Following this circular, Anna University has released a circular on 02/12/2020 stating the reopening of the eighth semester classes from 14th of December. We request you all to pledge your support because of the Covid-19 pandemic which is still not over and it is highly risky to come to the college where social distancing practices are difficult to implement with hostels having common washrooms and also the dayscholars who travel in public transport have a higher risk of getting exposed to this deadly disease. Kindly request you to support this petition. We request the Honourable chief minister of Tamilnadu to cancel the reopening of colleges.
