Do not reduce traffic fines in Karnataka or elsewhere in India

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

Recent increases in traffic fines from 2 times the previous fines - for minor offences to 5 times the previous fines -for major offences,  is a welcome step in the direction of better traffic laws and improved quality of life in India.

The previous fines were so meager that it could not prevent people from running through a red light or driving while intoxicated or not wearing a helmet. If we need a civilized society everyone needs to follow the rules. If someone disagrees with the rules they should fight to have the rules changed - not just decide to break it. Without a strong deterrent like these high fines it will be difficult to mend peoples behavior as mere education and even presence of traffic police officer has not been able to do it till now.

Chief minister of Karnataka is planning to reduce the fines following Gujarat's footsteps .

Please sign this petition to keep the fines high in the current form - as in the amendment .They are good for our society and paves the way for a better India.
