The use of firecrackers aggravate the already existing problem of air and sound pollution. With farmers burning the remains of produce from the kharif crops, the situation turns bad and even worse with the cold weather setting in. If we add vehicular pollution, then we are building ourselves a gas chamber. The government needs to enforce laws and dictates strictly - making the use of firecrackers and lighting fires a non-bailable offence. The courts must make the government accountable for the actions of the people they govern. The Supreme Court's judgment has to followed by all the law courts of the country and this petition aims to inspire fellow countrymen to ensure that the law courts direct and ensure that all government agencies respect and follow the orders.
