Movement for Democratization of Political parties in Pakistan
Movement for Democratization of Political parties in Pakistan
"One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferior" Plato
Pakistan is generously gifted by nature and has an ideal geo-strategic location but yet most of its 220 million people live below the line of poverty. While colonial background, ethnic diversity and repeated adventurism by the establishment are some of the many reasons hampering prevalence of true democracy, the core cause remains the absence of democratically organized political parties. Consequently, capable leadership isn't emerging and the country is run by dwarfs whose only claim to leadership is their lineage. This dynastic mode of running political parties leads to nepotism, cronyism and corruption, which morr often than not results in disruption of the political process. It is about time that the public in general and the political workers, of all hues and colors, in particular launch a movement for Democratization of Political parties and convert them into political institutions that guarantee stability of the political system.
