I’m pregnant and regardless of this I feel it’s a fundamental need for women to have their chosen birth partners with them.

There are so many other restrictions eased which are important but not so emotionally or physically draining as childbirth.

This is essential for the best mother and baby wellbeing with long term consequences. This should be a human right , especially for vulnerable women, mental health etc - and whose mental health hasn’t been impacted in Victoria now? Do something positive

Doulas are an invaluable part of a woman’s care team. I work with the prenatal community and am seeing a sea of anxiety leading into serious mental health issues in early parenthood. Allowing doulas back into the birth room has an immediate impact on the emotional well-being of these woman.
