Puppy Killed - Police Chief Lonigro - Fire Chief Deputy Kyle Hinds

The Town of Hamlet, Indiana has the following tag line for the Police Department "Dedicated to Protect and Serve" http://www.hamletpolice.com/Professional_Standards.html.  That was not the case on September 15, 2012 when Chief Deputy Kyle Hinds killed 10 month old rescue dog, Rosco.

Message From the Town Marshal (Police Chief Frank Lonigro III)

Every police department has the responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens it serves. In order to carry out this responsibility, it is essential that all citizens have a high degree of confidence in their police department.

The actions and decision making by Cheif Deputy Kyle Hinds on September 15, 2012 in Hamlet, Indiana in no way reflect and support the above message. Individuals such as Chief Deputy Hinds, by his current actions and judgement, do not warrant the honor and integrity of someone who should carry a badge in order to protect and serve the Constitution, Community and the agency he currently represents.

We, as citizens, need to let those whom we allow to "protect and serve" know that behavior such as Chief Deputy Hinds will not be tolerated, and we will not allow them to serve our community.

Letter to
Chief Deputy Kyle Hinds
Deputy Joe Reed
Deputy Dan Byrd
and 3 others
State Senator Edward E. Charbonneau
State Representative Nancy J. Dembowski
Police Chief Frank Lonigro III
I just signed the following petition addressed to Police Chief Frank Lonigro III: Puppy shot and killed - Dismiss Hamlet, Indiana Chief Deputy Kyle Hinds.

----------------
Police Chief Frank Lonigro III - Fire Chief Deputy Kyle Hinds

Police officers are on duty to protect and serve the community. They take a semblance of the following oath:

On my honor,
I will never betray my badge,
my integrity, my character,
or the public trust.
I will always have
the courage to hold myself
and others accountable for our actions.
I will always uphold the constitution
my community and the agency I serve.

The actions by Police Officer Kyle Hinds on September 15, 2012 in Hamlet, Indiana in no way reflect and support the above oath. Individuals such as Chief Deputy Hinds, by his current actions and judgement, do not warrant the honor and integrity of someone who should carry a badge, and a gun, in order to protect and serve the Constitution, Community and the agency he currently represents.

We, as citizens, need to let those whom we allow to "protect and serve" know that behavior such as Chief Deputy Hinds will not be tolerated, and we will not allow them to serve our community.
