The purpose of this petition is to prohibit the use of tobacco, cigarettes, marijuana, and vaping on all Beausoleil First Nation water transportation vessels.

This petition helps those individuals who do not have a choice to consume the second hand smoke and vapours from these substances. Substances can still enter vehicles when windows are shut. In the spring and summer months when the windows are open in the passenger area, smoke and vapours can enter freely.

Individuals such as infants, young children, and the elderly are at a higher risk when exposed to these substances. 

The goal of this petition would be for Beasoleil First Nation Chief and Council to vote to prohibit smoking and vaping on the BFN ferries. Chief and council would work with the Transportation department as well as Anishinabek Police service to ensure this ban is carried out and enforced.
