We are campaigning to get the temporary cycle lane  that is currently being put in place in Chichester removed and rethought.

It is extremely dangerous and is causing severe traffic problems, particularly around St Richards hospital. The bollards that have been used are ridiculous and very hard to see through when you are faced with so many, especially on the roundabout by college lane. 

The roundabouts are all now single lane and the amount of traffic that it is causing Is dangerous. Spitalfield road has become a car park at peak times and with cars also parked along the road any emergency vehicle would struggle to get through. 

We understand that this is temporary, so either something will replace it in time or it will just be a massive waste of money. We therefore presume that a permanent cycle lane will be implemented, if it is of the same scale as the current one we will be faced with huge traffic problems in the future. 

It needs to be rethought, Chichester is a nightmare with regards to traffic and it’s just getting worse.
